Session management is done entirely in the database and it is only a matter of adding a line to the XML application settings file. The MsSql adapter was heaviliy modified for this purpose but the scaffolders work correctly with SQL Azure schemas. This means your PHP app is completely scalable and cloud-computing-capable.
